Description

The 930 Turbo was one of the most iconic 911s. We are extremely proud to present what has to be one of the best 911 Turbo`s in the country. This 930 Turbo had been stored in a UK garage since 1999. It was originally supplied by JCT600 from new in 1981.The car was subject to a full ‘nut and bolt’ restoration by the Porsche main dealer in Leeds. The entire body was stripped, ensuring that any signs or wear and corrosion were duly treated.
The car was then professionally repainted back to its original “Guards Red” colour. the engine was completely stripped with the engine casings being vapour blasted back to their original condition whilst the technicians at Porsche centre Leeds rebuild engine trying to keep as many parts “original Porsche” as possible. The level of detail that went into this restoration included items such as the belt pulleys being plated back to their original condition.

The Porsche team at Leeds went to great lengths to keep the vehicle authentic. The floor mats in particular proved difficult to replace as they were no longer manufactured and the originals were beyond repair. Ultimately Andrew Smith (in charge of electrics and interior for the restoration) tracked down Lee peacock, who specialises in making and retrimming Porsche Carpets and trades from a farm using only word-of-mouth to advertise.

At the forefront of this restoration was commitment to original parts. Every part that could be restored was and anything else was replaced with genuine parts still available today. Over £30,000 worth of genuine Porsche parts has gone into the restoration of this car not to mention the numerous hours spent by the Technicians, Engineers and outside specialists who worked meticulously to create a genuine masterful restoration.Once completed the car was entered into Porsche UK`s national restoration competition where the Judges at the Competition certainly agreed the prestigious level of restoration as the car won first place for ‘Best Mechanical Restoration’.

The car is truly a spectacular feat in restoration with 1970 Le Mans winner and judge at the competition, Richard Attwood calling the vehicle “outstanding”.

This spectacular vehicle is supplied with all the receipts from Porsche Centre leeds for all the work carried out, original book pack, photographic evidence of the different stages of the restoration as well as the trophy awarded for best mechanical restoration. This car is truly exceptional which must be seen to truly appreciate the finished result.
